Technical Issue Forces Grandeur of the Seas to Stop for Repairs

A mechanical issue forced 2000-passenger Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship to make a stop for repairs January 10 in Port Canaveral, cruise line officials told the media.
Guests aboard the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas have been currently stuck in Port Canaveral.
The cruise operator’s engineering team has been working for two days now to resolve the issue. At this time, the Grandeur of the Seas is scheduled to sail back into Baltimore tomorrow, Saturday, January 13. Continue reading

Norwegian Cruise Line Opens Bookings for New Cuba Sailings

Norwegian Sun cruises to Cuba from Port Canaveral are now on sale.
The Miami-based line will send Norwegian Sun to Cuba from Port Canaveral on four-night trips beginning next summer.

Norwegian Cruise Line has just begun taking reservations for the four-night trips, which will kick off in May 2018. The plans for the sailings were announced earlier this month. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle Arrives In Port Canaveral, Open For Free Tours

The Coast Guard Cutter Barque Eagle, “America’s Tall Ship” arrived in Port Canaveral and will be open for free, public tours through June 4.

The ship will be moored for five days at Cruise Terminal 3, 220 Christopher Columbus Drive.

The tour schedule is:

Wednesday, May 31 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday, June 1 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday, June 2 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday, June 3 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday, June 4 – closed

The summer 2017 deployment lasts five months and includes 14 ports, including Port Canaveral and four international ports.

The Coast Guard Cutter Eagle last visited Port Canaveral 13 years ago. After Florida, the crew will set sail to Norfolk, Virginia.
