Florida faces the ‘most catastrophic storm’ it has ever seen in the coming hours as Hurricane Irma prepares to unleash tornadoes, a 15ft sea surge, flooding and 130mph winds.
Irma caused widespread cruise cancellations. The cruise ship companies Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, and Norwegian had to cancel cruises or change itineraries because of the hurricane. All the cruise lines have offered either reimbursement or credit towards future cruises for travelers affected by the last-minute change. Continue reading

Major Cruise Ships Will Go Ahead with Barcelona Calls Following Terror Attack
Most major cruise lines scheduled to have stops in Barcelona, Spain, will go ahead as planned despite the terror attack on Thursday when a van mowed down pedestrians and left 13 people dead and more than 100 injured in the touristic center of Las Ramblas.
The famous Las Ramblas Boulevard is one of the top destinations for cruisers visiting the city. The tree-lined pedestrian promenade is flanked by roads on either side of its Raval and Gothic quarters.
Barcelona is one of the biggest cruise ports in Europe. It’s visited by hundreds of cruise ships every year.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company announced on Thursday that it will soon enter the cruise industry.
